Week 5-Project

 Game vision statement

Game genre: The game genre that I will be choosing from a serious of options like shooters, action adventure and role playing games I was having a hard time in thinking what type of game I wanted because when ever I get told a project and we have all the power to make it anyone I want I get and have so many different ideas in my head it gets too much sometimes and I had to realise that I was only new to game development so all the complex and cool features that I wanted for my game would be very difficult so I went for one of the simpler routes and chose to make a plat-former game.

Gameplay: The gameplay for the plat-former was going to be similar to how super Mario gameplay is because one I liked super Mario so it would be fun to make a game similar to it and Mega man another plat-former just like Mario but instead of just jumping around just like in Mario, Mega man has a shooting aspect in the game, so I know that I'm definitely going to have coin collecting aspect in the game just like Mario but I don't know if ill add a shooting part to my game I would like to but it really depends on my skill and knowledge to add and implement that into my game.

Resources required: I don't really understand this part by resources required but I'm assuming it just thing too help the person when making the game, I'll will be looking at a couple of unity tutorials on how to make a plat-former, it's going to be 2D so I would definitely need to since I only successfully made 2 3D games, then I would need to find a sprite pack for the player character and the other assets like the background, terrain and coins etc and also need to learn how to get the animations right as-well because I don't want to have a static character in one pose moving up and down it would look horrible.

  1. Hey, sounds like an exciting game and busy game. It sounds really fun. I enjoy adventure games and think it will be more fun with the ability to shoot. I think it is good you have two games that you can get inspired by to make your own game. Are you going to add any extra features yourself? Do you have any theme for your game like horror, comedy etc.? Mario is a very fun game and you can get many different ideas from it. I had a look on the links you shared, they look good and explain things well. Goodluck in your project.

  2. Hey David,
i really enjoyed reading about your game vision and the direction that your planning to go with it, the overall premise of the game seems interesting with it being similar with the classic mario. Have you concisered adding a new mechanic that them game didn't have? Have you decided on the levels yet?

Project week 7

prototype My game development was going pretty good until I accidentally deleted the file because I bought the file I was working on in a different folder and I deleted that folder with it, but it's ok I'm going to start again but I can talk about how the process was going for me the good and the bad. The good was that the coding was going pretty good thanks to the tutorials that shaun put us on, on the unity tutorials but then I went on to youtube to learn more about coding especially more on 2D plat-former type of coding because thats the game I'm making so It was pretty helpful for me when I was looking at the tutorials.     Id say I only had a couple problems  was that my work rate has been lacking lately but I'm going to bounce back now so it took me a bit to get to the point of how developed the game was before it was deleted because of my stupid mistake and the second one was picking the sprite and background and all the oth...

Week 3-Feedback

Feedback thoughts The two articles I read was a fixed mindset could be holding you back and Silence the critical voices in your head. When I was reading these two articles it did open my eyes on how I look at feedback I liked the section in a fixed mindset in the changing how you think section, where even though you know that you have a fixed mindset it's not a bad thing it's a good thing because now your more self aware of you and your surrounding and now you can change your fixed mindset into a growth mindset, but it's not going to be easy you don't just one day get up and boom you are now in a growth mindset, theres levels to it and it's going to take time maybe weeks, months or years it depends on the person. And if you have a fixed mindset you struggle to adapt because your so used to the thing that you are really good at doing and it's a bad thing really because now you would be scared to try and learn a new skill set, but people with a growth mindset you...
